Adrienne Bailon of The Cheetah Girls has been the subject of a bizarre extortion plot involving nude pictures taken from a stolen laptop.
TMZ first broke the story Saturday, detailing how Adrienne Bailon’s laptop was stolen at JFK airport in late October. Later that day her record label received an anonymous phone call from a man saying he had her laptop and would return it for $1000. The payment was made, and the laptop returned, but missing were several nude pics Bailon had taken as an anniversary present for Robert Kardashian.
Bailon is engaged to Kim Kardasian's brother, Rob. As MediaTakeOut suggests, "she's marrying into the right family."
Bailon sent her family to recover her computer while she rushed off to a meeting with MTV, but they never got identification during the handoff.
"They didn't really want to question it further," Jaxson said.
Days later, pictures of Bailon sans skivvies - intended for her longtime boyfriend, 21-year-old Robert Kardashian - began to hit the 'Net.
Bailon is "absolutely distraught" over the scandal, her rep says, but is still touring the country with the Cheetah Girls.
A police report has been filed and Bailon is currently pursuing futher options.
Says Jaxson: "It's not going to be an overnight thing."
No word on whether Disney will let Bailon off with a public slap on the wrist, as they did with Hudgens' nude scandal in 2007. A rep for the company had no comment Monday.
