Savannah State University Locked Down After Shots Fired
A student has been shot and wounded at a dormitory at Savannah State University.
University spokeswoman Loretta Heyward says the shooting happened between 11 a.m. and noon Friday at the historically black college on Savannah's south side. She says campus officials don't have more details.
Officials have not released the name of the wounded student, who was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The campus was locked down immediately afterward. Cars were allowed to leave but not being allowed to travel onto campus.
