Heather Locklear was formally charged Monday with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence in connection to her September arrest.
Although no alcohol or illegal narcotics were found in the actress' system, Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter tells TMZ.com
they believe the prescription medications she consumed at the time "could have impaired her ability to safely drive a motor vehicle."
She was arrested Sept. 27 on suspicion of driving under the influence in Santa Barbara County, Calif. In July, she left a treatment center, where she dealt with anxiety and depression.

Over the weekend, Robert Buckley -- who stars with Locklear in Lifetme's Flirting With 40 (premiering next month) -- told Usmagazine.com the actress now is doing "well. She's fantastic."
