With holiday shopping season right around the corner, now is the best time to start looking for deals. There are several deals to be had right online.
Businesses already are outlining their plans for the holiday shopping season, with some well-known discounters looking to lock in customers sooner rather than later.
Among those is Sierra Trading Post, the Cheyenne, Wyo.-based retailer that buys up closeouts and discounted items from manufacturers, then sells them at savings at 35 percent to 70 percent.
Sierra Trading Post this week said it was upgrading its Web site to make it more user-friendly.
In a release, Keith Richardson, the company's owner and founder, said: "Like everything we do at Sierra Trading Post, the goal of these Web site enhancements is to better serve our customers. Our Web site has grown exponentially and it can be overwhelming. The new interface enables customers to quickly find products in their area of interest."
Sierra's Web site upgrade is just one of many shoppers can expect in the near future. A federal court ruling earlier this month in California that said sites must be more accessible to handicapped persons will likely mean several companies will be adding enhancements. The goal, of course, is to draw online shoppers and keep them in a difficult economic environment that has many retailers concerned about what could be a down season for holiday sales.
